Student Stories: Aaron

In our continuing series, we bring you stories from our students. Aaron writes a composition about his class, who will graduate AAH at the end of the year and take the Primary Leaving Exam, which will determine which secondary schools they can attend.  In the past three years, 98% of students have tested into the top two levels, which ensures their ability to go to quality secondary schools.  To find out more about our secondary school scholarship program, click here.

I have just joined a new class which is primary seven. I was promoted from primary to a class of difference. I had hope of finding some well trained teachers who could teach us well. My class is found on the opposite side of the secretary’s office. It was founded by Catherine Reising Jones who is a volunteer. She comes each and every year to prepare for primary seven scholarships in secondary school and registration of each candidate in a given secondary school.

Student Stories: Emmanuel (P6)

In our continuing series, students tell us about their life at AAH.  This is a composition by Emmanuel on the Reading Carnival.

It was on Friday, 17th October 2009 when we celebrated our annual Reading Carnival. I was too happy because I had read more than 88 books.

Before that day we were told to wear our sports uniform. We had a meat meal on that day and juice. I was so excited because I was the second best reader in my class. We were given many gifts ie soda, twelve biscuits, a cup and a bookmark. Continue reading Student Stories: Emmanuel (P6)

Student Stories: Sarah (P3)

In our continuing series, we bring you stories from our students – in their words.

My school is good because:
Teachers teach us very well.
We speak only English.
We go for tours every year.
At the end of the year we celebrate our school concert.
We read many books and we celebrate the reading challenge.

Student Stories: Moses (P3)

In our continuing series, we bring you stories from our students – in their words.

My name is Moses. I am in Primary Three.

I like my school because it has good teachers. The teachers teach us so well and we come to school every school day. At school, we eat food every day. The teachers also come everyday. I like AAH so much.

In the future, I want to be an engineer. I am studying so hard in school because we have good teachers. My best subjects are English and mathematics. I like them because they are good subjects.

I like Arlington because they give many things like uniforms, shoes, and stockings. I would like to thank the people who helped us to find Arlington Academy of Hope. At Arlington we don’t buy anything to use. Everything is there for us. I also want to thank the teachers of Arlington who have been teaching us. They are good teachers.

I also like my school because it has a school library. We read books everyday and we also enjoy reading. The school library is always open so you can borrow a book any time. We also have a school farm. At the school farm we have hens and cows. We get eggs and milk from the farm.
