Acknowledgements
The filmmakers want to thank everyone who contributed to From One Village.
This project would not have been possible without the assistance of many. We extend our deep thanks to many people in Uganda and the U.S.
In Uganda
We are especially grateful to the special people who tell the story: Rojus, Brian, Rachel and their families. By opening their homes and hearts to us, they enabled us to share this inspiring story with you.
- Mutsaka Rojus and his parents Wekoye Herbert and Wekoye Lois
- Wandeba Brian Weanga and his mother Nandutu Florence
- Nabulo Rachel and her mother Bwaya Sarah
We offer heartfelt thanks to the many members of our wonderful family at AAH and special people in Bumwalukani.
- Headmaster Kisolo Kitandwe Thomas and his staff provided support and access that enabled us to do our jobs while at AAH.
- The hundreds of AAH students charmed us with their eagerness, dedication, and beautiful voices and faces; they cooperated wonderfully as we filmed them in their classrooms and on school grounds.
- Mangoye Masawi Wilson served as our guide and translator and shared valuable cultural insights that helped us work effectively.
- Mwenyi Phoebe Lubango helped translate and transcribe the Lugisu interviews.
We also thank Headmistress Bukawa Hamida at Bumwalukani Primary School and Matanda Yekoyasi Wereka at Busiriwa Primary School in Bumwalukani Village for allowing us to film in their classrooms. Headmaster Kintu David Rogers at Makerere High School, Migadde, Uganda allowed us to film on campus and to interview Rachel and other AAH graduates.
In the U.S.

- Travis Triggs, Brett’s friend and high school classmate, traveled to Uganda with us as the team’s production assistant and audio specialist. His invaluable assistance helped us make the most of our intensive, but limited, time in Uganda. His parents, Casey and Laura Triggs, offered generous support at many points throughout the project.
